J-U-B Supports Enhancing River Access in McCall

J-U-B Engineers, Inc. is proud to support a collaborative project with the City of McCall Parks and Recreation and Idaho Fish and Game to improve the Deinhard Lane River Access site on the North Fork Payette River. This well-loved recreation area is a hub for anglers, tubers, kayakers, and paddleboarders, and the planned improvements aim to enhance safety, accessibility, and sustainability.

Planned Enhancements
The project will provide much-needed infrastructure and amenities, including:

  • A graded, ADA-accessible path and hardened boat ramp for non-motorized watercraft.
  • Improved parking and traffic flow.
  • Restroom facilities and potentially a picnic shelter for day-use activities.
  • A rock barb structure to reduce bank erosion and protect the riverbank.

These upgrades align with the City of McCall’s 2023 Parks, Recreation, and Open Space (PROS) Plan and the Valley County Waterways Management Plan, emphasizing safe, sustainable recreational access.

J-U-B’s Role
J-U-B is assisting with grant application support, including concept designs, cost estimates, phasing recommendations, and a technical memorandum. This involvement underscores our commitment to helping communities create sustainable, high-quality recreational spaces that enhance quality of life while protecting natural resources.

This project will transform the Deinhard Lane site into a safer, more enjoyable space while safeguarding the surrounding ecosystem, ensuring the North Fork Payette River remains a cherished resource for generations.
