(J-U-B) is “Helping Each Other Create Better Communities.”  We foster a teamwork environment to solve problems that improve society – while providing employees growth opportunities.  We are hiring a CAD Designer/Drafter to work in our Reno, NV office.  Position Overview:  We are seeking a CAD Designer/Drafter with an interest in a career path in CAD design to support a variety of civil engineering projects, primarily focusing on Civil Engineering including but not limited to public works projects, water infrastructure, and site development.  The Drafter/Designer will work directly with Engineers, and other Drafters/Designers and Survey Teams throughout the company and will perform a variety of technical duties to assist in the preparation, review, and maintenance of civil engineering drawings utilizing CAD, planning, and organizational skills. While applying technical knowledge and skills, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to: Work toward becoming an expert in CAD Design on multidisciplinary civil infrastructure projects. Work in a collaborative team environment. Utilize CAD software design skills and work in support of our design engineering team. Coordinate efforts with Engineers, EITs, drafters, designers, surveyors, and administrative staff members in the office. Maintain CAD standards for drawing development and contribute to innovation of CAD procedures Perform on-site reviews as necessary to gather project information to ensure accuracy of plans and measurements. Build your technical and team leadership skills through active coaching/mentoring and growth opportunities. Apply effective time management Support engineering research to document existing improvements, properties, rights-of-way, utilities, roadways, facilities, buildings, etc.   Qualifications: Designer: 5 years of experience performing above or related duties and/or a 2-year degree in CADD Associate or Advanced Level Certificate. Drafter: a 2-year degree in CADD Associate or Advanced Level Certificate with 3+ years of experience. Potential candidates with skills or proficiency in the following software platforms are urged to apply: AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D Effective communication skills. The primary duties of the Senior Environmental Planner/NEPA Specialist position include serving as the environmental lead various stages of project development including environmental planning, NEPA documentation and permitting. Well-developed technical writing and project management skills are a must. While serving the environmental lead on a variety of NEPA documentation and environmental projects, this position may also be responsible for data collection, agency coordination, quality control, and preparing environmental permit applications, impact analyses and technical reports related to NEPA compliance and regulatory permitting. While applying project management skills and technical knowledge, this position: Prepares and assists in the development of environmental documents, resource analyses and permit applications Collects, interprets and analyzes data Prepares technical memorandums and reports Assists in preparation for, and participation in, public information meetings and hearings. Requires excellent verbal, technical writing, project management, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner, and to work collaboratively in a team-focused atmosphere Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (preferred) in Environmental Policy, Environmental Science, Environmental Resource Management, Biology, or Botany 15 years related experience preferred Understanding of Federal, State and local environmental regulations and processes with agencies such as FAA, NRCS, USACE, EPA, USFWS, NOAA, and FHWA Strong oral and written communication skills A working knowledge of the NEPA process, and environmental document preparation Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze information, make sound decisions, lead projects to completion and meet deadlines Well organized team player, able to coordinate with project team members to ensure that quality work is completed in a timely manner Salary Range: Salary range starts at $92,000 plus / Negotiable by experience. J-U-B ENGINEERS, Inc. (J-U-B) is hiring a Survey Crew Chief to work from our Reno, NV office.  As one of the largest professional engineering companies in the Intermountain West, J-U-B delivers innovative services which allow our clients to succeed, while providing an enriching environment for our employees. This position works under the direct supervision of a Licensed Land Surveyor and Field Crew Supervisor. The main responsibilities include acting as the Crew Chief for field survey assignments with the ability to: Set up, adjust, and operate Trimble GNSS receivers, data collectors, robotic total stations, lasers and running levels used for specific surveying tasks Perform complex surveying calculations Anticipate design needs and perform design topographic surveys, following survey standards and feature code procedures Measure, record, and calculate data based on information collected from various survey instruments Read and understand plans as part of J-U-B Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) policy. Report to Survey Manager and/or in-house design team with findings. Perform minor staking calcs in order to stake projects for construction on Engineering plan designs in municipal, suburban, urban, and rural settings Understand and implement boundary control principles Search and recover public and private land corners, layout pins for property corners Collect field data for use in boundary, topographic and ALTA/NSPS Surveys. Perform field quality control of design documents Assist other members of the surveying team Qualifications: 2 or more years previous surveying experience as a field crew chief Knowledge of surveying practices and principles Fundamental knowledge of mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry and appropriate software to run surveying instruments The ability to perform physically demanding tasks in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions, and have flexibility to work long hours as workload dictates The ability to prioritize and delegate work, enforce safety procedures, and work independently A genuine desire to be part of a well-functioning surveying team Ability to take and maintain clean, thorough, and complete field notes Knowledge and experience with current Trimble software (TBC) and hardware (GPS receivers, data collectors, total stations, etc) Salary Range: $25-$38 per hour/Determined by experience.
