OVERVIEW

J-U-B has worked closely with many local government agencies over its 60 years in business. Cache County is one such agency for which we have performed a variety of projects ranging from $5,000 to $2,000,000 in design fees. They involve planning and GIS, environmental work, design, procurement and construction oversight. We have also completed public involvement work associated with civil projects as well as alternative project delivery including Construction Manager, General Contractor (CMGC) program management.

Recently we prepared concept reports and designs for intersection and roadway safety projects for Cache County. One such project is at Maughan’s Corner near Benson, a five-point intersection with poor drainage and narrow roadway widths. J-U-B is working with the County to find a cost-effective solution to mitigate the traffic accident problems, improve drainage and minimize costs for construction. The project will include intersection design, drainage design and opinions of cost for several alternatives.

J-U-B also designed a roadway widening project at 500 East near Millville for the County. Over this half mile stretch of road, the pavement width will be increased from 16 feet to 28 feet. Because of adjacent roadside ditches, coordination with the Division of Water Resources and Army Corp of Engineers (ACOE) is required for permitting. We prepared the proper GP-40 Application for submittal to the ACOE. It is in review now in anticipation of construction in the spring 2015. The Maughan’s Corner and 500 East Projects are small projects each with design fees less than $50,000.

On a larger scale, J-U-B performed program management and construction engineering oversight on the Cache Water Restoration Project for Cache County. This effort included program management of the CMGC process, environmental permitting, coordination with the US Forest Service, easement acquisition, feasibility studies, specific design components and construction management. J-U-B also performed public involvement for the project to keep citizens informed regarding the $25M project.
