Surveying and Geomatics
Hells Canyon Primary and Secondary Control – Idaho Power Company
Idaho
OVERVIEW

J-U-B’s work for Idaho Power was to survey a 110‑mile stretch of the Snake River through the famed Hells Canyon reach—the deepest gorge in North America. The work involved establishing a centimeter-level geodetic control network that will facilitate ongoing bathymetric surveys, as well as scientific and environmental studies. This project followed two previous geodetic control surveys on the Snake River that J-U-B completed—120 miles from Swan Falls to Brownlee to control pressure transducer sites, and 400 miles through 11 Idaho counties for a hydrodynamic modeling project and other scientific studies.

Awards and Recognition:  This project was profiled in Technology & More, an international publication for surveying and mapping professionals.
