Maybell Diversion Rehabilitation and Headgate Modernization
Colorado
OVERVIEW

The Maybell Diversion Rehabilitation and Headgate Modernization project was developed for a multi-benefit purpose of providing Maybell Irrigation District with remote monitoring and control of their headgate on the Yampa River in Colorado, as well as to increase drought resilience and collaboration between water users, to improve boater safety during high flows, and to restore fish passage past the Maybell Diversion in the Yampa River for the endangered Colorado Pikeminnow.
Coordinating with the BLM, NRCS, and USBR, J-U-B’s Environmental Services group completed all biological and water resource inventories for the project, permitting with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and completed all NEPA compliance for the project in coordination with each federal agency.

“I was pleasantly surprised by the knowledge of J.U.B.’s Environmental Services Group. They were one step ahead in keeping the project on track with multiple governmental agencies and regulations, making sure we had what we needed before we needed it. Their work was instrumental to not only the construction portion of the project but the financial piece of the project, saving us time and money. With a strong work ethic, knowledge, and the ability to work with multiple teams they are above the rest!”
