J-U-B has provided potable water system planning for the City of West Richland for over twenty years. The 2009 Water System Plan identified a future source deficiency and planned for a new 1,100′ groundwater well to be drilled and developed. J-U-B assisted the City in securing funding for the design and construction of Well No. 11. Development of this well was conducted systematically and required close monitoring of neighboring groundwater levels with the Washington State Department of Ecology.
After a successful pump test and source approval, J-U-B developed construction plans and specifications for the wellhouse and transmission main. J-U-B provided construction observation and construction management services for the project.
Because the groundwater quality had unexpectedly deteriorated between well drilling and pumphouse construction, J-U-B designed an air stripping tower and booster pump station.
